Product sales make up a significant part of a salon’s revenue, and it starts with where and how the products are displayed. Our selection includes both simple wall-mounted retail shelves and freestanding or mobile display racks with several levels—32 products in total from five brands: Ästetik, Vismara, Moebe, Comfortel and Nicolas Vahe.
A retail shelf typically consists of one or two boards mounted directly on the wall, making it suitable for a smaller, carefully selected range. A display rack has several levels, often 3–5 shelves, and can either be mounted on the wall or stand freely in the room. If you want to display a broad product range, a rack provides more space. If you simply want to highlight a few selected products somewhere in the salon, a single shelf is often enough and takes up less visual space.
The number of shelves varies considerably across the range, from a single board to racks with up to five levels. The more levels there are, the more you can display at once, but it also requires more floor or wall space. Consider how many different product lines you actually want to display at the same time before choosing a large rack. An overcrowded retail area can seem untidy rather than inviting.
The range includes aluminium, melamine, solid oak and powder-coated metal. Aluminium and powder-coated metal are light and easy to keep clean, melamine is strong and resistant to scratches from bottles and packaging, while solid oak creates a warmer, more natural look. There is no single best material—the choice should complement the rest of your salon’s style and interior.
Most shelves are mounted on the wall, while the racks either stand freely on the floor or are fitted with wheels. Wall-mounted solutions do not take up floor space and work well in smaller salons, while freestanding racks are easier to move if you regularly change the layout of the retail area. If the rack is going in a place with limited floor space, a wall-mounted model is often the best solution.
One rack in the range is fitted with wheels. This makes it ideal if you want to be able to move it around the salon—for example, to highlight a promotion or new products in another location for a while. The other shelves and racks are designed as fixed installations that you set up in one place and leave there.
Most people place retail shelves and racks somewhere the customer naturally looks, such as by the till, near the wash area or close to the workstations. There is no single right location—it depends on where in the salon customers have time to look around. If you have space in several places, it may make sense to spread the products across smaller shelves rather than gathering everything on one large rack.
Prices vary across brands and materials, from a single aluminium shelf to a large solid oak rack. If you are setting up an entire retail area with several shelves or racks, it may pay off to combine smaller and larger solutions rather than choosing the same model several times. This often gives you more flexibility for your money.
The selection brings together five brands. Ästetik supplies aluminium shelves (Slim) and melamine shelves (Display), both in several colours and sizes. The same Slim shelf is also available in our towel shelves and shampoo shelves. Vismara is behind the white melamine shelves with an oak or wenge wood edge. Moebe sells its oak and grey-toned range in both wall- and floor-mounted versions. Comfortel supplies the curved Maya rack and the wall-mounted Square. Nicolas Vahe is behind Rack Grey, the only rolling rack in the selection. See the full range from each brand: Ästetik, Vismara, Moebe, Comfortel and Nicolas Vahe.

Just Add People is Denmark’s largest inspiration centre for hairdressers and beauty artists, with more than 175 products on display in our showroom. Here, you can compare the materials across the brands and see what a shelf or rack looks like filled with products before you decide. Klaus Østergaard, who has advised the hairdressing industry for more than 30 years, will be happy to help you put together the right retail area for your salon.
It depends on how much you need to fit. A single retail shelf is enough if you want to highlight a few selected products somewhere in the salon, for example by the till or at a single workstation. A display rack with several levels makes sense if you sell a broader range and want to gather it in one place. Many salons actually use both: smaller shelves spread around the room and a larger rack as the main retail area.
It depends on the number of shelves and the model. The largest racks in the range have five deep shelves and provide space for a broad selection, while a single shelf is intended for a smaller, selected range of your products. If you have a large product range that you want to display together, a rack with several levels is the best starting point rather than several scattered single shelves.
Only one rack in the range is fitted with wheels and designed to be moved around. The other racks and shelves are intended as fixed installations that you mount or place in one location. If you need to be able to rearrange a retail area regularly, for example to highlight a promotion, a rolling rack is the obvious choice over a fixed model.
Aluminium and powder-coated metal create a light, modern look and are easy to keep clean. Melamine is durable for everyday use and resistant to scratches from bottles. Solid oak adds a warmer, more natural look. None of the materials is functionally better than the others—the choice is about which look matches the rest of your salon’s interior.
Yes, several of the wall-mounted shelves are also designed as a small surface for placing a cup of coffee or a plant between appointments, not just for products. Most of the shelves and racks are sturdy enough to hold more than shampoo and styling products, so you can certainly use them more flexibly if you need to.
Contact us via the contact page for the current delivery time for the individual shelf or rack. Wall-mounted models are usually quick to install yourself, while larger floor racks may take a little longer to assemble. If you are unsure what best suits your salon, you can book a visit to our showroom and see the solutions in person before ordering.
