Looking for a Spa Mist hair steamer for your Head Spa concept?

Spa Mist II is the name of the product itself, a hair steamer from Takara Belmont built specifically for Head Spa treatments. Unlike a standard hair steamer, Spa Mist operates at around 40 degrees instead of the high heat used by traditional steamers, and it is used during the treatment itself, not just during washing. Here you will find Spa Mist on both a stand and a trolley, along with the accessories that go with it.

Guide: How to choose the right Spa Mist setup

There are five things worth considering before you choose.

        1. Stand or trolley?

Spa Mist on a stand is the fixed solution, designed to stay in the same place in the salon, typically at a dedicated treatment station. Spa Mist on a trolley has wheels underneath, so you can move it between several stations if the Head Spa treatment does not always take place in the same location. If you only have one dedicated Head Spa station, the stand is usually the simplest choice. If Spa Mist will be used in several places in the salon, or you have not yet set aside a permanent station, the trolley gives you the freedom to move it as needed without investing in several units.

        2. Colour and finish

Spa Mist is available in black, white and brown, whether you choose a stand or trolley. The colour of the equipment is visible to the client throughout the treatment, so it is worth choosing a finish that matches the rest of the Head Spa area, including the Yume washing unit, rather than choosing a colour separately from the rest of the setup. A black or white Spa Mist typically suits most interiors, while brown works best if the salon already has warm, natural tones.

        3. On its own or as part of the Head Spa concept?

Spa Mist is a standalone hair steamer that you can use without a Yume washing unit; it does not depend on the rest of the Head Spa setup to function. Many salons therefore start with Spa Mist alone for colour and scalp treatments, and add a Yume washing unit and Headbath later when they want to build the complete concept. If you want to get started with the full Head Spa experience from the beginning, it makes sense to view Spa Mist as one part of a larger Head Spa setup, rather than focusing only on the steamer.

        4. Accessories and hoods for different treatments

Spa Mist is used with different hoods depending on the type of treatment: a seated hood, a reclining hood, and specific hoods for colour and perm treatments. If you choose the wrong hood for the task, you will not get the same even distribution of mist, which is the whole point of Spa Mist compared with a standard steamer. Therefore, consider which treatments you offer most often—colouring, perms or pure scalp care—before putting together your set of hoods, so you do not find yourself missing the right type halfway through a treatment.

        5. Investment and business plan

Spa Mist is a larger investment than a standard hair steamer, and it pays off best when used as a standalone, priced service in the salon, rather than as a free extra included with other treatments. We can help you create a business plan for the investment, and we also offer flexible financing options that make it easier to get started without putting pressure on your finances all at once. Contact us, and we will help you determine whether it is the right investment for your salon right now.

        Popular Spa Mist variants

Spa Mist II on a stand is available in black, white and brown, and is the most popular choice if you have a permanent Head Spa station in the salon. Spa Mist II on a trolley is available in the same colours and is typically used by salons with several treatment stations where the steamer needs to be moved around. Spa Mist II Complete with Trolly is supplied as a complete set with trolley, ready to use from the very first treatment.

        Accessories for Spa Mist

In addition to the steamer itself, you will find a wide selection of accessories that expand how you can use Spa Mist. The hoods—seated, reclining, colour and perm hoods—adapt the mist to the specific treatment. The Aroma Kit adds fragrance to the treatment through a holder for aroma oil, while the Ball Nozzle and flexible hose holder make it easier to position Spa Mist correctly in relation to the client. If you already have a Spa Mist, you can expand its functions with the accessories alone, without investing in a new unit.

        Brand

Takara Belmont, the Japanese brand behind the entire Head Spa concept, has developed Spa Mist through decades of experience with salon equipment and Japanese technology. Spa Mist is based on the same supersonic technology used in several of Takara Belmont’s other Head Spa products, and is designed specifically for low-temperature mist, not as a general-purpose hair steamer. Explore the wider range of Takara Belmont products if you want to build more of your salon around the same brand.

Part of the Head Spa concept

Spa Mist is part of the Japanese Head Spa concept together with Yume washing units and Headbath accessories, but it can also stand alone. If you want to put the complete experience together, from horizontal washing to mist and scalp treatment, you will find the full setup collected in our Head Spa furniture range. If you are looking more broadly for a hair steamer for purposes other than Head Spa, it is worth exploring our full selection of hair steamers, where you will find several types and price ranges.

        Delivery and peace of mind

Made-to-order items and special colours are exempt from the general right of return. See the full terms in our terms and conditions.

Spa Mist is difficult to fully assess from pictures alone; the fineness of the mist and its low temperature are best experienced in practice. Visit our showroom in Viborg, where you can experience Spa Mist together with the rest of the Head Spa setup and get advice from Klaus Østergaard on which setup is right for your salon.

Frequently asked questions about Spa Mist

What is the difference between Spa Mist and a standard hair steamer?

A standard hair steamer typically works with steam at around 100 degrees, which can dry out or damage the hair with prolonged exposure. Spa Mist instead produces an ultra-fine mist at around 40 degrees, gently opening the hair cuticle so care products and nutrients can penetrate more deeply without heat exposure. This makes Spa Mist especially suitable for Head Spa treatments and other gentle treatment programmes, while a standard hair steamer may still be the right choice for faster, more traditional steaming treatments where the low temperature is not essential.

Do I need a Yume washing unit to use Spa Mist?

No, Spa Mist is a standalone hair steamer that works independently of the Yume washing units. You can easily start with Spa Mist alone for colour or scalp treatments and add Yume and Headbath later if you want to expand to the complete Head Spa concept. Many salons choose this order because it allows them to test demand for Head Spa treatments among their own clients before investing in a complete horizontal washing solution as well. This makes Spa Mist a natural first step if you are curious about the concept but are not yet ready to commit your budget to the full setup.

Stand or trolley—which is best for my salon?

A stand is best if you have a permanent Head Spa station where the steamer can remain between treatments. A trolley is the better choice if Spa Mist will be used in several places in the salon or if you have not yet set aside a permanent Head Spa station. If you are unsure, a trolley is the more flexible choice to start with, as you can always leave it in one fixed location, whereas the opposite is not possible without investing in a new unit.

Can Spa Mist be used for purposes other than Head Spa treatments?

Yes, Spa Mist is also used for colour treatments, where the fine mist helps distribute colour pigments evenly, and for perm treatments, where the mist can provide more consistent results. It is therefore not just a Head Spa product, but a steaming tool you can use more broadly in the salon when you need gentle, low-temperature mist instead of traditional high heat. This versatility is one of the reasons several salons choose Spa Mist over a standard hair steamer, even in salons that do not offer Head Spa as a standalone treatment.

What warranty does Spa Mist come with?

You receive at least a 2-year warranty on Spa Mist, regardless of whether you choose a stand or trolley and regardless of the colour you choose. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the steamer unit itself and its mechanical parts, so you are covered if something fails during normal use in the salon, whether it happens after one week or after a year and a half. Please note that special colours are exempt from the general 14-day right of return, as they are produced specifically for your order and therefore cannot be resold as a standard item to another customer.
