Looking for a starter kit for your new salon?

At Just Add People, you’ll find complete starter kits for hairdressers and barbers, put together so you get all the essential equipment in a single order. The packages cover both cutting and washing, in black, sand, tan, gold and beige, and are designed so all the furniture works together from day one, whether you’re opening your first salon or expanding an existing one.

How to choose the right starter kit

There are five things worth considering before you order a starter kit for your salon:

1. Hairdresser or barber setup

Our hairdresser starter kits are designed for two client stations and one washing station, allowing you to have one client getting a haircut while another has their hair washed from the first day of opening. The barber starter kit is instead designed for a single client station, making it a better fit for a smaller clinic or a barbershop where space is limited or you’re starting out on your own. Consider how many clients you realistically need to serve at the same time before choosing between the two.

2. Colour and finish

The starter kits are available in several colour combinations, including black, sand, tan, gold and beige, so the overall look can match the rest of your salon’s interior from the start. Because all the furniture in each package is selected to work together, you don’t have to combine finishes, legs and upholstery yourself across different suppliers. If you choose a colour that doesn’t match the rest of the room, the result can look disjointed, even if each individual piece of furniture is high quality.

3. Standard washing station or washing unit with massage

Most starter kits include a standard washing station, but we also offer a version with a washing unit with massage, where the washing unit has a built-in massage function. It’s an obvious upgrade if you want to offer a more luxurious experience during hair washing, or if wellness is an important part of how you differentiate your treatments. If a standard washing station is enough for your concept, you can save the cost of the extra function without compromising on the quality of the washing station itself.

4. Ergonomics in the salon stools

The salon stools in the packages have hydraulic height adjustment, allowing you to adapt the seat height to each client without straining your own back and shoulders throughout a long working day. This is especially important if several employees will share the same station, as everyone can adjust the stool to their preferred working height. Without this adjustment, you’ll end up compensating by bending over, which can take a toll on your body over time.

5. Delivery and peace of mind

Four things are always included, whatever you order. Price match: We’re happy to match the price of an item, so you always get the best price. Fast shipping: No hidden fees or delivery costs associated with your order. 14-day returns: If you change your mind, we’re ready to help. Terms and conditions apply. 2-year warranty: We always offer at least a 2-year warranty on our furniture and equipment. You can find the full terms in our terms and conditions.

Our hairdresser starter kits

All hairdresser starter kits include two client stations and one washing station, and differ primarily in colour and finish. Black and Tan black create a classic, discreet look. Sand and Beige suit lighter, warmer salon interiors. Gold adds a more exclusive look with gold details, while Tan white creates a clean, modern expression. The Washing unit with massage version contains the same setup, but with a washing unit with a built-in massage function instead of a standard washing station.

Barber starter kit for the smaller clinic

If you’re setting up a barbershop or a smaller clinic, our barber starter kit is designed for a single client station rather than two. This makes it ideal if you’re starting out on your own, have limited space or prefer a more focused setup instead of a full salon arrangement. The package is available in black and offers the same focus on coordinated design and ergonomics as the hairdresser packages.

Put together with many years of experience

We’re a family-owned and family-run business that has been helping hairdressers for more than 30 years, and 96% of our customers would shop with us again or recommend us to others. That experience forms the basis of how our starter kits are put together, helping you avoid the typical buying mistakes that can happen when you have to assemble a salon from scratch without knowing the practical demands of the industry.

See the starter kits in person

You can experience several of the starter kits in our showroom in Viborg, where you can see the furniture assembled as it would be in your own salon and feel the quality before ordering. If you need individual pieces instead of a complete package, you’ll find the full range under hairdresser equipment and salon furniture.

Frequently asked questions about starter kits

What is included in a starter kit?

The hairdresser starter kits include two client stations with salon stools and one washing station, assembled in matching colours and designs, so you don’t have to put together individual pieces that may not match in finish or style. The barber starter kit includes a single client station with the same focus on a coordinated finish, but without a washing station, as the concept typically doesn’t require one in the same way as a hair salon. The exact contents may vary slightly between colour options, so always check the specifications for the individual product, or contact us if you’re unsure what is included in your specific package before ordering.

Can I customise a starter kit if I only need some of the pieces?

The starter kits are put together as complete solutions, but if you already have some of the equipment or want a different combination from the options available in the packages, you can instead create your own solution from our full range of hairdresser equipment. This gives you complete freedom to choose exactly the pieces you need, instead of paying for equipment you already have or for a colour that doesn’t match the rest of the salon. If you’re unsure what makes the most financial sense, we’re happy to help you work it out based on your specific needs.

What is the difference between the hairdresser and barber starter kits?

The hairdresser starter kit is designed for two client stations and one washing station, allowing you to serve several clients at the same time from the first day of opening, but it requires more space in the room. The barber starter kit has just one client station and no washing station, making it a better fit for a more focused barbershop concept or a smaller clinic where you’re starting out alone or have limited space. Both are put together according to the same principles of coordinated design and ergonomics, so the main difference is scale, not the quality of the individual pieces of furniture.

Can I choose a different colour from the ones shown in the range?

Our standard colours cover the most popular combinations, from classic black to lighter sand and beige tones as well as more exclusive gold details, but if you have a specific colour or finish in mind that differs from the standard selection, you’re welcome to contact us. We can’t guarantee that every combination is possible, but our advisers will be happy to help you find the solution that comes closest to what you have in mind, or point you towards individual pieces that you can combine yourself to achieve exactly the colour you want.

Can I see the starter kits in your showroom before ordering?

Yes, several of the starter kits are part of the permanent showroom display in our showroom in Viborg, where you can see how the furniture looks together in practice instead of judging each piece individually from photos. This is particularly useful for a larger investment such as a starter kit, where the overall look matters more than any single piece of furniture. We recommend booking an appointment in advance, so an adviser can help you assess whether it’s the right solution for your new salon.
