Magnifying lamps and beauty lighting for the clinic

Are you looking for a magnifying lamp or beauty lighting for your clinic? When carrying out detailed work such as lashes, nails, skincare treatments or permanent makeup, magnification and the right lighting are essential for both the result and your posture throughout a long working day. At Just Add People, you will find magnifying lamps and beauty professional lighting from brands such as Daylight, Vismara and Nilo Spa Design.

Guide: How to choose the right magnifying lamp or beauty lamp

Here are the most important things to consider before making your choice.

      1. Why is a magnifying lamp important in the clinic?

When working with lashes, nails or smaller areas of skin, you often work closer up and with finer details than the naked eye can easily assess accurately throughout an entire working day. A magnifying lamp enlarges the area you are working on, so you can see details clearly without leaning unnecessarily close over the client. Over time, this reduces strain on your neck and back while also improving precision during the treatment itself. If you work with the same type of detailed tasks every day, a magnifying lamp is therefore not only a visual aid but also an investment in your own posture.

      2. Stand with wheels or clamp?

A magnifying lamp on a wheeled stand, such as the model from Nilo Spa Design, can be moved freely around the room and positioned exactly where you need it for each treatment. A clamp-mounted magnifying lamp is instead attached to the edge of the treatment bed or table, saving floor space and ensuring that the lamp is always in the same place. If you have several treatment rooms that you move between, a wheeled model is the most flexible. If you work from one fixed station every day, a clamp model is often the more stable and space-saving solution.

      3. LED lighting and visibility

Most modern magnifying lamps, such as the MAG XL from Daylight, use LED lighting, providing clear, cool light without the heat associated with older fluorescent models. This means you can work close to the client’s skin or lashes for longer periods without the light feeling uncomfortably warm for the client. Good LED lighting also makes it easier to assess colours and skin tones correctly, which is relevant both for skincare treatments and for coloured products such as lashes or permanent makeup.

      4. Beauty lamp with flex arm

A beauty lamp with a flex arm, such as the Electra from Daylight, differs from a classic magnifying lamp by focusing on flexible positioning of regular professional lighting rather than magnification. The arm can be bent and adjusted precisely to the angle you need, which is practical for treatments where you frequently change working positions. If you mainly need magnification, a magnifying lamp is the right choice. If you mainly need flexible, adjustable professional lighting without magnification, a beauty lamp with a flex arm is the better solution.

      5. Battery or cord

Most magnifying lamps are connected to the power supply by a cord, but a model such as the Halo Go from Daylight has a built-in battery, allowing it to be used independently of a power outlet. This is an advantage if you work on the go, visit clients at home or want the flexibility to move the lamp to areas of the clinic without a nearby power outlet. If you work exclusively from a fixed station with access to power, a corded model is usually sufficient and does not require you to remember to charge it between treatments.

      6. Budget

The price varies depending on the magnification, light quality and whether the lamp has a battery or extra features such as a flex arm. A simple clamp-mounted magnifying lamp is often the most budget-friendly choice, while a model with a battery, such as the Halo Go, or a wheeled stand comes at a higher price. If you need to equip several treatment stations, it can pay to consider the complete solution rather than only the price of each individual lamp.

      Popular products

The MAG XL from Daylight is one of our best-selling magnifying lamps, known for its clear LED lighting and stable stand. The Halo Go, also from Daylight, stands out with its built-in battery, allowing it to be used without access to a power outlet. Living LED from Vismara is a popular nail lamp focused on precise professional lighting for smaller details. Electra, also from Daylight, is a beauty lamp with a flex arm for flexible positioning of professional lighting.

      Brands

Daylight supplies most of our magnifying lamps and beauty lamps, including the MAG XL, Halo Go and Electra, all focused on clear LED lighting for detailed work. Vismara, the Italian brand, is behind the Living LED nail lamp. Nilo Spa Design supplies magnifying lamps with wheeled stands and clamp-mounted models for treatment beds. Frequently asked questions about magnifying lamps and beauty lighting

What is the difference between a magnifying lamp and regular professional lighting?

Regular professional lighting provides general illumination of the work area, while a magnifying lamp also enlarges what you are looking at through a built-in lens. This makes a magnifying lamp particularly relevant for detailed work such as lashes, nails or smaller areas of skin, where you need to see very close up without having to lean completely over the client. Regular professional lighting is sufficient for treatments where visibility is enough and magnification does not make a real difference to the result. If you are unsure what your clinic actually needs, consider how close to the skin or lashes you typically work in your daily practice.

Can the magnifying lamp be used for both lashes and nails?

Yes, most of our magnifying lamps are versatile and can be used for several types of detailed work, including lash extensions, nails and smaller skincare treatments. The key factor is usually the positioning of the lamp: a wheeled stand gives you the flexibility to move it between different types of treatments, while a clamp model is best if you mainly work from one fixed station. If you frequently switch between treatments during the day, a wheeled model is therefore typically the more practical solution, as you avoid having to remove and remount a clamp model for each new treatment.

Should I choose a model with a battery?

It depends on how you work. If you have a fixed station with easy access to a power outlet, a corded model is usually the most convenient solution, as you do not need to remember to charge it. If you work on the go, visit clients elsewhere or want the freedom to position the lamp without considering power outlets, a battery-powered model such as the Halo Go is worth considering. Keep in mind, however, that a battery model needs to be charged between uses. This is one extra thing to keep track of during a busy day, and if you forget, you may be left without light in the middle of a treatment.

What warranty is available for magnifying lamps and beauty lamps?

You get at least a 2-year warranty on all magnifying lamps and beauty lamps, whether they are stand-mounted, clamp-mounted or battery-powered. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the electronics, lens and any battery function, so you are covered if something breaks during normal use in the clinic. If something breaks within the warranty period, simply contact us and we will find a solution. Please note that our general 14-day right of return does not cover made-to-order items or products specifically customised for your order.
