Looking for a styling chair from Greiner? We are Greiner's exclusive distributor in Denmark, so whether you want the retro-coloured Greiner 59 or the minimalist Greiner 22, we are the only place where you can buy them in this country. Greiner is a German manufacturer that has been making hairdressing chairs since 1922, and we are continually expanding our selection in the showroom.
The range covers five different chair series. Here are the key things to consider before you choose.
Greiner has five different styling chair series, each with its own look. Greiner 59 has an iconic retro design and is the most recognisable model in the range. Greiner 22 is a modern classic with a clean, understated design if you prefer something more restrained. Greiner 38 takes its design language from the 1960s, with clean lines and a simple shape. Greiner 50 is an elegant model with soft padding, while Greiner 55 stands out with its three visible layers—seat, backrest and sides—which give it a more architectural look than the other series. Start by choosing the series whose style best suits the rest of your salon.
The Greiner chairs are available with either a Cross base or round base. Greiner 59 is primarily available with a chrome or black Cross base, while Greiner 50 and 55 are exclusively available with a round base. Greiner 22 and 38 are available in both versions, depending on the colour and model. A Cross base gives you a more classic, visible lower structure, while a round base creates a calmer, more modern look with concealed mechanics. If you already have other chairs in the salon with a particular type of base, it may be worth matching them so the overall look remains consistent.
The chairs are available in a wide range of colours, from black and dark brown to beige, white and dark green, and you can combine most upholstery options with either a chrome or black frame. Greiner 59 is the series with the widest choice of colours because it was deliberately designed to adapt to very different salon styles. Choose a neutral colour such as black or beige if you want the chairs to be easy to move around the salon without clashing with the rest of the interior, or a more distinctive colour such as dark green if the chair itself is meant to be a focal point.
Prices vary across the five series, with the differences primarily relating to construction and details rather than basic quality; all series are built for professional, everyday use. If you are furnishing several stations at once, it may be an advantage to choose the same series for all chairs, so both the look and spare parts are consistent. If you are replacing just one chair in a salon with mixed furnishings, you have more freedom to choose the series that best suits that particular station. If you want to compare them with other brands, we have a broader selection in our complete hairdressing chairs collection.
Leather upholstery lasts longest when it is cared for regularly. Carisma is Greiner's own care kit for leather hairdressing chairs, gently removing dirt and grease from the surface without drying out the leather. Keeping a care kit in the salon means you can keep the chairs presentable between more thorough cleanings, significantly extending the life of the upholstery compared with simply wiping it down with ordinary cleaning products, which can dry out the leather over time.
As we are Greiner's exclusive distributor in Denmark, we have direct contact with the factory, which means faster delivery and better access to spare parts if a chair needs new upholstery or a new pump base. You do not have to look for another distributor or wait for a shipment to pass through several links in the supply chain before reaching you. If you need spare parts that are not part of our standard range, we can order them directly from Greiner.
Greiner 59 is the most sought-after model, both because its retro design is instantly recognisable and because it comes in the widest range of colour combinations. Greiner 38 and Greiner 22 are close behind as the preferred choices for salons seeking a cleaner, timeless look. Greiner 55 with black upholstery and a black round base is the best-selling model in the series, while Greiner 50 with beige upholstery is often chosen for brighter, more understated salon environments.
Greiner 59 is an award-winning hairdressing chair with iconic retro design, available in many colours and materials so you can adapt it to your salon. It comes in six colour combinations, from black and white to beige, brown and dark green, with either a chrome or black cross base. This is the most recognisable model in the Greiner range and a natural choice if you want a chair with a distinctive, retro-inspired look in your salon.
Greiner 55 is built around a distinctive form, with the seat, back and sides arranged in three separate layers. This gives the chair its characteristic, more architectural look compared with the other series. It is available in black, dark brown and brown with a black round base, and suits salons looking for a chair with a visible, constructed form rather than a soft, unified look.
Greiner 50 is an elegant styling chair designed for professional hair salons, combining comfort with sleek aesthetics. It is available in beige, dark brown, black and brown, all with a black round base. The upholstery is softer and more rounded than in the other series, creating a calmer, more understated look in the salon. If you are choosing between Greiner 50 and Greiner 55, 50 is the soft, inviting choice, while 55 is more angular and architectural.
Greiner 38 brings the design language of the 1960s back in a contemporary styling chair. The clean lines and simple shape create a calm, stylish look without compromising on comfort. It is available in beige, black and brown, with either a round base or cross base depending on the colour. Greiner 38 works well in salons with a retro- or vintage-inspired interior, where the chair should complement the rest of the décor rather than stand out on its own.
Greiner 22 is a modern classic with a clean, understated design. It offers excellent comfort for the customer, and its features make your working day easier. It is available in black, dark brown and brown, with either a round base or cross base, and in a chrome or black finish. If you are unsure which Greiner model to choose, 22 is often the safe choice, because its simple design fits into almost any salon interior.
Carisma is Greiner’s care kit for leather hairdressing chairs. It consists of a care lotion and a cloth, and gently removes dirt from the surface without drying out the leather. If you use the care kit regularly, the upholstery stays presentable for longer, and you postpone the need to have the chairs reupholstered. It is a small, affordable accessory that extends the lifespan of an investment that would otherwise cost significantly more to replace.
We are Greiner’s exclusive distributor in Denmark. This means we are the only place in the country where you can buy Greiner’s hairdressing chairs, and that we have direct contact with the factory regarding delivery, spare parts and support. Greiner also provides a 5-year extended factory warranty on their furniture, significantly more than our general minimum. Greiner has become an important brand for us, and we are continuously expanding our selection of Greiner models in the showroom.
We show a selected range here on the site, but as the exclusive dealer, we can always order the rest of Greiner’s range if you are looking for a model, colour or variant that you cannot see here.
You get the same four fixed benefits, no matter which Greiner model you choose:

You can see and try Greiner’s chairs in our showroom, where you can compare the different ranges side by side. If you are unsure which model is right for your salon, Klaus Østergaard, who has more than 30 years of experience in salon design, will be happy to help.
Greiner was founded in 1922 by Walter Greiner Senior as a small mechanical workshop producing metal components for hairdressing chairs. In the 1950s, the company developed from a component supplier into a full-service hairdressing chair specialist, and in 1960 they launched their first hydraulic chairs. Greiner is still a family-owned company headquartered in Pleidelsheim, Germany. This long history means that Greiner has fine-tuned its hydraulics, upholstery and frames over more than 100 years—not just designed a chair that looks good on paper.
We have personally visited Greiner’s factory in Germany and seen how the furniture is made. Virtually everything is produced in-house. The only things Greiner does not make themselves are some of the smaller spare parts that would not make sense to produce in-house, as well as the actual painting of the frame, which is carried out by an external painter. Everything else, from upholstery and padding to assembly, takes place at the factory and is done by Greiner’s own employees, and every chair is handmade.
Greiner has its own staff who upholster all the furniture, and develops the foam used in the seats itself. We have seen an employee shape a seat from foam at the factory; it is designed both for comfort and to ensure that the chair retains its shape for many years, instead of sagging or losing its form after daily use. Scraps from the upholstery production are collected in a container and recycled rather than ending up as waste.
The furniture is tested according to international standards, with a significant safety margin beyond the load the chair is actually designed to withstand in a salon. Greiner is sometimes seen as a somewhat traditional brand, but in our experience, that is a strength, not a weakness: it means a strong focus on ergonomics, durability and craftsmanship rather than fast-moving design trends. That is why Greiner also provides an extended 5-year factory warranty on its furniture, in addition to our usual minimum warranty of 2 years.
Yes. We are Greiner’s exclusive distributor in Denmark. This means that Greiner hairdressing chairs are sold exclusively through us in Denmark, not through other retailers. It gives us direct contact with the factory regarding delivery, spare parts and support, instead of having to go through several intermediaries. Greiner is an important brand for us, and we are continuously expanding our selection of Greiner models in our showroom, so you can see and try more series in one place before making your decision.
Yes. We show a selected range here on the website, but as the exclusive distributor, we have access to Greiner’s full range. If you’re looking for a specific model, colour or variant that you can’t see here, you can contact us, and we’ll look into the options and order it for you. This applies both to complete chairs and individual colour variants that aren’t a permanent part of our online range.
It depends on the look you want for your salon. Greiner 59 has the most recognizable retro design, while Greiner 22 and 38 are more understated and timeless. Greiner 50 is the softest and most rounded model, and Greiner 55 stands out with its layered, architectural shape. If you’re unsure, Greiner 22 is often the safe choice because its simple design fits into most salon interiors, while Greiner 59 is the choice if the chair itself should be part of the salon’s visual identity.
Greiner tests its furniture according to international standards with a significant safety margin beyond the load a chair is actually exposed to in a salon. We have visited the factory in Germany ourselves and seen how each chair is handmade, from the self-developed furniture foam in the seat to the hand-stitched upholstery. The foam is designed both for comfort and to help the chair retain its shape for many years, rather than sinking with daily use. Combined with the extended 5-year factory warranty, Greiner chairs are built to last far beyond the typical lifespan of a salon chair.
Yes. As the exclusive retailer, we have direct contact with Greiner, giving us quick access to spare parts such as upholstery, pump bases, and other wear parts. If you have an older Greiner chair and would like to extend its lifespan, you can contact us to find out which spare parts are available for your specific model. Because Greiner has been producing hairdressing chairs since 1922, there is a good chance we can help, regardless of how old your chair is.
Use the Carisma care kit regularly on the leather upholstery. It gently removes dirt and grease without drying out the leather, which significantly extends the life of the upholstery compared with using ordinary cleaning products alone. Avoid products that are not intended for leather, as they can dry out and cause the surface to crack over time. Wipe the chairs down daily between clients as part of your regular cleaning routine, and use the care kit itself once or twice a week, depending on how much the chairs are used during the day.
Greiner offers a 5-year extended factory warranty on its furniture, in addition to our general minimum of 2 years, which applies to all other equipment you purchase from us. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the hydraulics, frame, and upholstery. If something breaks during the warranty period and it is not due to normal wear and tear, we will arrange a repair or replacement in cooperation with the factory. Please note that our general 14-day right of return does not cover made-to-order items or products customized specifically for your order, so always check the product page if you are unsure whether a purchase can be returned.
Yes. We display several Greiner ranges in our showroom, and the selection is continuously expanding. There, you can sit in the chairs, compare the upholstery and shape of the different ranges side by side, and see how the colors look in real life rather than on screen. This is especially useful if you are considering several ranges at once, because the difference between, for example, Greiner 50 and Greiner 55 is clearer when you can sit in them yourself.
