Looking for a starter kit for your new salon?

At Just Add People, you’ll find complete starter kits for hairdressers and barbers, put together so you get all the essential equipment in one order. The kits cover both cutting and washing, in black, sand, tan, gold and beige, and are designed so all the furniture works together from day one, whether you’re opening your first salon or expanding an existing one.

How to choose the right starter kit

There are five things worth considering before ordering a starter kit for your salon:

1. Hairdresser or barber setup

Our hairdresser starter kits are designed for two client stations and one washing station, allowing you to have one client getting a haircut while another has their hair washed from opening day. The barber starter kit is instead designed for a single client station, making it a better fit for a smaller clinic or barbershop where space is limited or you are starting completely on your own. Consider how many clients you realistically need to serve at the same time before choosing between the two.

2. Colour and finish

The starter kits are available in several colour combinations, including black, sand, tan, gold and beige, so the overall look can match the salon’s other furnishings from the start. Because all the furniture in the kit has been selected to work together, you avoid having to combine finishes, legs and upholstery yourself across different suppliers. If you choose a colour that does not match the rest of the room, the result can look disjointed, even if each individual piece of furniture is high quality.

3. Standard washing station or washing unit with massage

Most starter kits include a standard washing station, but we also offer a variant with a washing unit with massage, where the washing unit has a built-in massage function. It is an obvious upgrade if you want to offer a more luxurious experience during hair washing, or if you differentiate your treatments through a wellness element. If a standard washing station is sufficient for your concept, you save the cost of the additional feature without compromising the quality of the washing station itself.

4. Ergonomics in the salon stools

The salon stools in the kits have continuously adjustable height, allowing you to adapt the seat height to each client without straining your back and shoulders during a long working day. This is particularly important if several employees are sharing the same station, as everyone can adjust the stool to their own working height. Without this adjustment, you end up compensating by bending over, which can take a toll on your body over time.

5. Delivery and peace of mind

Four things are always included, no matter what you order. Price match: We are happy to match the price of an item, so you always get the best price. Fast shipping: No hidden fees or delivery costs connected with your order. 14-day returns: If you change your mind, we are ready to help. Terms apply. 2-year warranty: We always offer at least a 2-year warranty on our furniture and equipment. You can find the full terms in our terms and conditions.

Our hairdresser starter kits

All hairdresser starter kits include two client stations and one washing station, and primarily differ in colour and finish. Black and Tan black create a classic, understated look. Sand and Beige suit lighter, warmer salon interiors. Gold adds a more exclusive look with gold details, while Tan white creates a clean, modern appearance. The Washing unit with massage variant includes the same setup, but with a washing unit with a built-in massage function instead of a standard washing station.

Barber starter kit for the smaller clinic

If you are setting up a barbershop or smaller clinic, our barber starter kit is designed for a single client station rather than two. This makes it suitable if you are starting out on your own, have limited space, or prefer a more focused setup instead of a full salon layout. The kit is available in black and has the same focus on cohesive design and ergonomics as the hairdresser kits.

Put together with many years of experience

We are a family-owned and family-run company that has been helping hairdressers for more than 30 years, and 96% of our customers would shop with us again or recommend us to others. That experience forms the basis of how our starter kits are put together, helping you avoid the typical poor purchases that can happen when you have to build a salon from scratch without knowing the practical requirements of the industry.

See the starter kits in person

You can see several of the starter kits in our showroom in Viborg, where you can view the furniture assembled as it would be in your own salon and experience the quality before ordering. If you need individual pieces instead of a complete kit, you can find the full range under hairdressing equipment and salon furniture.

Frequently asked questions about starter kits

What is included in a starter kit?

The hairdresser starter kits include two client stations with salon stools and one washing station, brought together in matching colours and designs, so you do not have to combine individual pieces that may not work together in terms of finish or style. The barber starter kit includes a single client station with the same focus on a cohesive finish, but without a washing station, as this concept typically does not require one in the same way as a hairdressing salon. The exact contents may vary slightly between the colour variants, so always check the individual product specifications, or contact us if you are unsure what is included in your specific kit before ordering.

Can I customise a starter kit if I only need some of the pieces?

The starter kits are put together as complete solutions, but if you already have some of the equipment or want a different combination from those offered in the kits, you can instead create your own solution from our full range of hairdressing equipment. This gives you complete freedom to choose exactly the pieces you need, rather than paying for equipment you already have or a colour that does not match the rest of the salon. If you are unsure what makes the most financial sense, we are happy to help you work it out.

What is the difference between the hairdresser and barber starter kits?

The hairdresser starter kit is designed for two client stations and one washing station, allowing you to serve several clients at the same time from opening day, which requires more space in the room. The barber starter kit has just one client station and no washing station, making it a better fit for a more focused barbershop concept or a smaller clinic where you are starting out alone or have limited space. Both are assembled according to the same principles of matching design and ergonomics, so the main difference is scale, not the quality of the individual pieces of furniture.

Can I choose a different colour from those shown in the range?

Our standard colours cover the most popular combinations, from classic black to lighter sand and beige tones, as well as more exclusive gold details. If you have a specific colour or finish in mind that differs from the standard selection, you are welcome to contact us. We cannot guarantee that every combination is possible, but our advisors will be happy to help you find the solution that comes closest to what you have in mind, or point you towards individual pieces that you can combine yourself to achieve exactly the colour you want.

Can I see the starter kits in your showroom before ordering?

Yes, several of the starter kits are part of the permanent display in our showroom in Viborg, where you can see how the furniture looks assembled in practice instead of judging each piece individually from pictures. This is particularly useful for a larger investment such as a starter kit, where the overall look matters more than any single piece of furniture. We recommend booking an appointment in advance so an advisor can help you assess whether it is the right solution for your new salon.
