Looking for a complete Colorbar system for your color and wash area?

Colorbar is a modular system from Ästetik, designed to bring cabinets, a washbasin, towel storage, and a color rack together in one cohesive look behind the backwash units. Unlike separate individual pieces, the entire system is designed to be displayed in the salon itself, rather than hidden away in a separate color room, making the color area a visible part of the interior instead of something that needs to be concealed.

Guide: How to put together your Colorbar system

There are four things worth considering before you choose.

1. Cabinet, washbasin, or towel basket?

The Colorbar cabinet is the straightforward storage solution without a sink, for you if you already have a sink elsewhere in the color area. The Colorbar washbasin has the same cabinet, but with an integrated washbasin, so you can mix color and rinse your hands in the same place without walking to another station. The towel basket is a third option, where the cabinet instead provides space to store towels visibly and within easy reach. If you need several functions, you can easily combine multiple modules side by side instead of choosing just one solution for the entire area.

2. Closed tube rack or open shelf for your colors?

The Colorbar tube rack is the system's closed solution, designed specifically to keep color tubes visible and separated in fixed compartments. If you prefer open storage that you can arrange according to your own system, you will find the Display shelf in the same three finishes, black, beige cappuccino, and oak pattern, and in several lengths depending on how much space you have available. Both options match the rest of the Colorbar modules, so the choice is about how you can best keep track of your color range in everyday work, not about the finish. If you are not looking for a solution from the complete system, you will find a wider and more affordable selection in our color racks.

3. A finish that matches the entire salon

The modules are available in black, beige cappuccino, oak pattern, and red burgundy, so you can create the entire color and wash area in the same style, regardless of how many modules you choose. If you mix finishes across the cabinet, washbasin, and rack, you risk making the area look pieced together, even though each individual module works well. Therefore, choose the finish based on how the entire area should look as a whole, not just the individual module in front of you.

4. A complete system or individual pieces?

Colorbar is significantly more expensive than putting together a color area from separate individual pieces because you are paying for a considered design that can be displayed, not just storage capacity. If the color and wash area is to be a visible part of the salon's interior, seen by clients, that investment is often what separates a salon that looks professional from one that simply functions. If you already have a dedicated color room that clients never enter, it can be difficult to justify the same investment, and separate individual pieces solve the task at a much lower price.

Popular Colorbar modules

The Colorbar cabinet is available in black, beige cappuccino, oak pattern, and red burgundy as a straightforward storage solution without a sink. The Colorbar washbasin is the same cabinet with an integrated washbasin, available in black and beige, with either a chrome or black sink. The towel basket is available in black, beige, and oak pattern, for storing towels as a visible part of the system. The Colorbar tube rack matches the other modules in black, beige cappuccino, and oak pattern, while the Display shelf offers the same three finishes in an open design, in lengths from 32 to 130 cm.

Brand

Ästetik, the Danish brand behind Colorbar, has developed the system specifically for salons that want the color and wash area to look just as well-considered as the rest of the salon. The modules are designed to be combined freely, so you can start with one module and expand later without the new module standing out from what you already have.

Frequently asked questions about Colorbar

What is the difference between the Colorbar cabinet, washbasin, and towel basket?

The cabinet is the straightforward storage solution without a sink, for you if you already have a washbasin elsewhere in the room. The washbasin has the same cabinet, but with an integrated sink, so color and hand washing are brought together in one place instead of having to walk to another station to rinse your hands. The towel basket is designed to store towels visibly instead of providing a sink. All three share the same basic module and finishes, so you can combine them freely according to the functions your color area actually needs without compromising the overall look.

Do I need the tube rack, or can I make do with the cabinet?

It depends on where you store your color tubes today. If you already have a color rack you are happy with, you can easily make do with the cabinet, washbasin, or towel basket and keep the tubes where they normally are. If, on the other hand, you want a fully cohesive look where the color storage also matches the rest of the system, either the tube rack or the Display shelf is the natural addition, depending on whether you prefer closed or open storage. This is especially relevant if the entire color area is to appear as one unified whole to clients.

Can I mix finishes, or should everything match?

You can technically mix finishes, but it is not recommended if the Colorbar system is to be displayed visibly in the salon. The whole point of the system is its cohesive look, and mixed finishes can make the area appear random and pieced together, even though each module works well on its own. If you are unsure which finish best suits the rest of your interior, we are happy to help you assess it, preferably based on photos of the existing room, so you avoid ending up with modules that do not work well together.

What is the difference between Colorbar and a regular color rack?

A regular color rack, such as Tint rack, is a simple tube grid at an affordable price, designed to stand in a dedicated color room where appearance matters less than capacity. Colorbar is a complete system of cabinets, a washbasin, and a rack, designed to be displayed in the salon itself as part of the interior. The price difference therefore reflects whether you are buying basic storage functionality or a well-designed solution for a visible color area, not a difference in the quality of the storage itself. If you do not need the area to look presentable to clients, the simple solution is often the most sensible choice.

What warranty does Colorbar have?

You get at least a 2-year warranty on all Colorbar modules, whether it is the cabinet, washbasin, towel basket, or tube rack. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the furniture itself, fittings, and any sink mechanism, so you are covered if something fails during normal use in the salon, whether it happens shortly after purchase or later during the warranty period. Please note that special colors and customized modules are exempt from the general 14-day right of return, as they are produced specifically for your order and cannot be resold as standard items to another customer.
