Looking for a wall mirror with lighting made for the demands of a hair salon?

At Just Add People, you’ll find wall mirrors with built-in, dimmable LED lighting, designed for the daily work in a hair salon. We have three models from Comfortel, in round and oval designs, all with touch-controlled dimming so the light can be adjusted for cutting, colouring and styling.

How to choose the right mirror with lighting

Five things are worth considering before ordering a salon mirror with lighting:

1. Round or oval design

A round mirror, such as Circa LED Round, creates a soft, modern look and works well in a minimalist interior with short distances between stations. An oval mirror, such as Circa LED Oval, covers a slightly larger area and has a more classic appearance, which can be an advantage if the client needs to see themselves from several angles during a longer treatment. Both are available with the same LED technology, so the choice is mainly about style and how the mirror works with the rest of the salon’s interior, not about light quality.

2. Dimmable lighting

Daylight in a salon changes throughout the day, and a mirror with touch-controlled dimming allows you to adjust the brightness as needed. This is particularly useful in the morning and late in the day, when natural light is weaker. Without dimming, you risk either harsh lighting that causes eye strain during longer treatments or lighting that is too weak to assess colour nuances correctly. With the dimming function, you can continually adjust the light to suit the task and time of day instead of having one fixed level that never quite feels right.

3. Installation and placement

A wall mirror with built-in lighting needs a power connection at the wall, so its placement should be planned together with the rest of the electrical installation at the workstation. Always measure the wall before ordering, and check the distance to sockets and any other equipment so the mirror can be hung at the correct working height. Choosing the wrong placement can result in visible cables or a mounting height that does not suit the client chair, which is much harder to correct afterwards than measuring carefully before installation.

4. Finish and frame

The mirrors have a floating frame and a simple design that suits most salon interiors without taking attention away from the work itself. The smooth surface provides a sharp reflection, while the LED ring around the edge distributes the light evenly, helping you avoid shadows on the client’s face during treatment. Shadows around the eyes and jawline are particularly problematic when colouring and cutting, as they can make you misjudge where a line actually sits. An evenly distributed LED ring is therefore just as much a work tool as a design feature.

Our mirrors with lighting right now

Circa LED Round is a round salon mirror with built-in LED lighting and a dimming function that suits most workstations. Circa LED Oval is the oval version of the same model, with the same dimmable LED lighting and finish. Arch LED II is a wall mirror with built-in lighting and a slightly more distinctive frame, for anyone who wants a stronger design statement at the station. All three come from Comfortel, one of the most widely used manufacturers of salon mirrors in Danish salons.

Looking for a mirror without lighting, or more lighting in the salon?

If the mirror does not necessarily need built-in lighting, we have a wider selection of mirrors, including several models in wall-mounted mirrors. If you instead need more lighting in the room independently of the mirror, you’ll find our full range of lighting. For stations that need especially precise lighting during the treatment itself, see our professional lighting.

Why hairdressers choose mirrors with lighting from Just Add People

We have been helping hairdressers for more than 30 years, and 96% of our customers would shop with us again or recommend us to others. Experience the mirrors in person before you decide at our showroom in Viborg, where you can see the brightness and dimming function in practice before ordering.

Frequently asked questions about wall mirrors with lighting

Can I use one of the mirrors in a bathroom?

The mirrors are developed for use in hair salons, where they are installed securely in a dry environment at a workstation. They have not been tested or certified for installation in damp rooms such as bathrooms. If you need a mirror with lighting for a bathroom, we recommend choosing a model specifically approved for damp rooms with the appropriate IP rating, as moisture can damage the built-in electronics over time if the mirror is not designed for that purpose. If you are unsure about a specific installation, you’re welcome to contact us, and we’ll help clarify whether one of our mirrors is suitable for your needs.

What is the difference between the round and oval mirror?

The main difference is the shape and the amount of mirror surface you get. The oval mirror covers a slightly larger area and provides a wider field of view, which is practical if several employees of different heights need to use the same station. The round mirror has a more compact, minimalist look and takes up less visual space on the wall, which can be an advantage in smaller rooms or at stations positioned close together. Both have the same LED technology and dimming function, so you can confidently choose based on what best suits the salon’s style and available space without compromising on the lighting itself.

Can the brightness be adjusted?

Yes, all three models have a dimming function controlled by touch directly on the mirror. This means you can adjust the brightness throughout the day depending on how much daylight is already in the room, without having to switch the mirror off and on or adjust other light sources in the space. This makes the mirror flexible to use for both everyday cutting, where strong lighting is rarely necessary, and colour work, where accurate light rendering is essential for assessing shades correctly, including late in the day when natural light is at its weakest.

Does the mirror need to be installed by an electrician?

As the mirror has built-in LED lighting that needs to be connected to the power supply, we recommend having an authorised electrician handle the electrical connection and permanent wall mounting. This ensures that the installation complies with current regulations and that the mirror is securely attached to the wall, even with daily use in a busy salon where it is regularly passed by and cleaned. If you skip this step or have a non-authorised person handle the connection, you risk both insurance-related complications and a solution that is not properly secured over time.

Will the mirror fit my existing workstation?

Most of our customers mount the mirror directly above an existing workstation, but this requires enough wall space and access to power at the correct height. Measure everything before ordering, and pay attention to the distance to sockets and other equipment at the station, including any shelves or cabinets already mounted on the wall. If you are unsure whether the dimensions will suit your setup, you’re welcome to send us a photo of the station via contact, and we’ll help assess whether a specific mirror is the right choice.
