Hairdressing furniture, hairdressing furnishings and salon furniture for the entire salon

Are you furnishing a new salon from scratch, or do you need hairdressing equipment for a single station? At Just Add People, you’ll find hairdressing furnishings for the entire salon in one place, from chairs and washing stations to mirrors, lighting and storage. We have helped hairdressers furnish their salons for more than 30 years, and our selection of salon furniture and hairdressing furniture covers everything from a single station to a complete refit.

Guide: How to plan your hairdressing furnishings

Here are the most important things to consider when choosing hairdressing equipment for your salon.

1. Map out your stations before choosing furniture

Start by listing how many cutting, washing and possibly barber stations you need before you begin choosing individual products. This gives you an overview of the total budget and helps you prioritise where it makes the most sense to invest in more expensive models and where a simpler solution is sufficient. Many salons end up spending too much on the first piece of furniture they fall in love with and too little on the rest because they did not make an overall plan first.

2. Chairs for cutting, washing and barbering

Washing units, washing units and barber chairs are the furniture your customers spend the most time in, which is why quality is felt most clearly here. Look at features such as hydraulic or electric height adjustment, backrests and massage, and choose according to the treatments you primarily offer. A salon with many long colour treatments has different needs from a salon with quick haircuts because the customer sits in the chair considerably longer at a time. If you choose a chair that is too simple for a salon with many long treatments, both you and the customer will quickly notice it through discomfort and a less professional experience.

3. Mirrors and lighting

A good mirror and proper hairdresser lighting work together. Even the best mirror will not help if the light around it produces inaccurate colour rendering or shadows. Always prioritise lighting with a high CRI, which shows hair colours as they really appear, rather than choosing a mirror based on design alone. If you choose lighting with a low CRI, you risk an otherwise correct colour looking wrong during the treatment itself. This is typically only discovered when the customer gets home in ordinary daylight, making it one of the most overlooked causes of dissatisfied customers after a colour treatment.

4. Storage and workstations

A trolley keeps tools and products close at hand, while a display shelf makes it easy for customers to see and buy products on their way out. The more organised your workstation is, the less time you spend looking for things in the middle of a treatment, which directly affects how many customers you can get through on a busy day. If several hairdressers share the same trolley, good organisation is especially important, as a messy trolley quickly becomes a shared problem that no one feels responsible for tidying.

5. Waiting area and atmosphere

The customer experience starts in the waiting area, not when they sit in the chair. Waiting furniture and decorative lighting help set the tone for the entire visit and are often what customers remember as their first impression of the salon. A well-designed waiting area can enhance the experience of the whole salon, even if the workstations themselves are relatively simple, because it signals that you have considered the overall setting, not just what the customer sits in during the treatment. If you skip this part, you risk an otherwise good first impression falling apart before the customer even reaches the chair.

6. Budget and prioritisation

If you are equipping an entire salon at once, it can pay to contact us for a combined sale price rather than ordering the products individually. We can often offer a better overall price when several stations are ordered at the same time, and it is easier for you to keep track of delivery for an entire fit-out at once rather than waiting for several separate deliveries.

Popular products

The Bat Man barber chair from Comfortel and the Hazel washing unit are among the best-selling individual products in our range. Rolio, the salon stool with backrest from Solida Furniture, is often chosen by hairdressers who prioritise back support during a long working day. If you have a larger budget, Apollo II from Takara Belmont and the Yume washing system are among the most exclusive choices in the range.

Hairdressing chairs and barber chairs

Our full selection of Hairdressing chairs and barber chairs ranges from simple, budget-friendly models to exclusive chairs with massage and electric adjustment, from brands such as Comfortel, Mirplay, Solida Furniture and Takara Belmont. Whether you are equipping a single station or an entire salon from scratch, you will find models in several price ranges, allowing you to match your choice to both your budget and the look you want for your salon.

Washing units and hairdressing wash stations

See our complete washing units guide, covering everything from standard washing units to washing units with massage and the exclusive Yume system. The guide helps you choose between features such as massage, freestanding basin and Hair Spa accessories, depending on the experience you want to offer your customers at the wash station. Hair washing is one of the treatments during which the customer spends the longest time in the chair, so it is one of the investments that is most worthwhile prioritising in your budget.

Mirrors, lighting and extraction

In addition to mirrors and hairdresser lighting, you will also find extraction systems, which are a legal requirement in many salons with employees when working with hair colour and other chemical products. These three categories often work together at each workstation, so it is worth planning them as a whole rather than choosing each part separately. This ensures that the lighting, mirror and extraction system work well together at your particular station.

Storage, trolleys and reception

For storage and workstations, we offer trolleys, display shelves and reception desks, so you can keep both the work area and sales area tidy and professional. A well-planned reception is often the first thing a customer sees when they enter, and an overcrowded or messy reception desk can create a poor first impression, even in a salon with good workstations.

Brands

We stock a wide range of recognised brands within hairdressing furnishings, including Comfortel, Solida Furniture, Mirplay, Takara Belmont, Kiela and our own lighting brand NewLite. Each brand has its own strengths, from Mirplay’s affordable, versatile range to Takara Belmont’s more exclusive Japanese craftsmanship. This gives you the opportunity to create a salon that matches both your budget and your desired look. See the complete brand overview if you want to compare manufacturers across the range.

Frequently asked questions about hairdressing furnishings

What is the difference between hairdressing furnishings, hairdressing equipment and salon furniture?

In practice, they cover the same things: all the equipment and furniture a salon needs, from chairs and washing units to mirrors, lighting and storage. “Furnishings” and “equipment” are typically used broadly to describe everything, while “furniture” is sometimes used more specifically for seating and tables. Here, you can find all three parts of the range together on this page.

Where should I start if I am furnishing a completely new salon?

Start by mapping out how many stations you need and which treatments you primarily offer before choosing individual products. If you are equipping several stations at once, you can contact us for a combined sale quotation. We can help you put together a solution that suits your salon and budget, rather than leaving you to navigate the entire range on your own.

Can I get advice on which furnishings are right for my salon?

Yes. Klaus Østergaard, who has more than 30 years of experience in salon furnishing, will be happy to help you find the right solutions, whether you are equipping a single station or an entire salon. You can also visit our showroom and see how different furniture and equipment work together in a real salon setup before deciding. This is particularly valuable if you are choosing between several models, as differences in comfort and quality are often clearer in person than in photographs.

Do you sell to hairdressers, barbers and beauty therapists?

Yes. Our range covers equipment for several industries, including hairdressers, barbers, beauty therapists and tattoo artists. Some products, such as salon stools and washing units, are specific to one industry, while others, such as waiting furniture, mirrors and lighting, are relevant across all types of salons and clinics. If you run a salon with several services under one roof, such as both haircuts and beauty treatments, you can therefore combine furnishings across categories without having to shop in several different places.

What warranty do you offer on hairdressing furnishings?

You receive at least a 2-year warranty on all furniture and equipment you buy from us. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in frames, upholstery, hydraulics and other moving parts, whether it is a simple styling chair or a complete washing system. Please note that our general 14-day right of return does not cover made-to-order items or products customised specifically for your order. This is worth keeping in mind if you choose the colour and upholstery yourself.
